The Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Grant is a three-year (July 2008 - June 2010) competitive grant funded through Title IID. Erie 1 BOCES is one of 28 consortia throughout New York State awarded grant monies to fund theme-based education technology projects focused on promoting technology integration into curriculum and instruction. The focus chosen by Erie 1 is centered on leadership & systemic change. Participantation is targeted at Erie 1 BOCES public districts and participating non-public schools, who will receive multi-modal, scaffolded professional development, the goal of which will be to develop leaders in 21st century technology integrators who will then be able to turnkey learned strategies and skills in their respective districts/schools.

21st Century Learning Series Announced for Spring Semester 02/01/10
Free, differentiated staff development opportunities tailored to meet the needs of Erie 1 BOCES participants. Only the 21st Century Learning Series allows participants to learn at their own pace in a multi-modal learning environment. Click here for more information and to REGISTER!
iPod Touch Pilot Program for Administrators March 8, 2010 01/04/10
The EETT grant has developed an iPod Touch Pilot Program for Administrators to help build leadership capacity. Each public school district has been awarded 4 iPod Touch, non-public schools will receive 1 device for administrator use. The devices will not only provide administrators with access to the latest technologies, but a wealth of digital resources relating to 21st century school reform circulated through the EETT grant.
Student Advisory highlighted at Learning Showcase 11/01/09
Students who have been participating in the student advisory program with Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach will be highlighted during the Learning Showcase on December 3rd, 2009. Teams of students and teachers will be presenting a variety of projects that focus on 21st century learning and the ISTE NETS.
The EETT Grant has been renewed for another round! 09/01/09
We are excited to announce that we now have funding until 2012. In this next round of grant activities, we have opened the service up to all educators in participating districts. Opportunities include: administrative forums, cadres, professional development online, and instructional coaching.

Erie 1 BOCES EETT Grant Project Goals:

  • Develop leaders in technology integration who will be able to adopt and regularly use effective 21st Century strategies and skills;
  • Develop leaders in technology integration who will be able to collaborate in a sustained professional learning network using a blended approach of online communities, Web 2.0 tools, and school-based collaboration;
  • Build capacity for district leaders to turn-key the learning opportunities within each leading teams’ school and district, including how to support staff in this new learning environment;
  • Create and disseminate high quality, inquiry-based lessons aligned with 21st Century Learning.
